JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision, works on diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction, does semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work, and performs related tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Able to work outdoors under various temperatures.
Safely operates powered equipment for mowing golf course putting greens, aprons, and tees.
Waters and fertilizes putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs as instructed.
Grades and prepares soil plant beds, lays sod, plants vegetative material, and seeds putting greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
Changes cups on the greens and moves tee markers as instructed.
Maintains ball washers, water hazards, and bunkers.
Safely operates light equipment for hauling materials and removing debris.
Trims trees, prunes shrubbery, and cultivates shrubs and flowers as needed.
Assists in the construction of new greens, tees, and fairways by grading, preparing soil, and planting.
Ensures completion of daily assignments in respective areas to meet Club standards and Star Service FOCUS expectations.
Assists fellow Employee Partners, Members, and guests in delivering the 3 steps of service without being directed, while being aware of team members and the environment.
Notifies supervisor of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur and practices service recovery to rectify complaints promptly.
Must be able to perform various functions as needed and help others when necessary.
Adheres to company, club, and department written mandatory standards of operations, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to work well under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks, and focusing attention on detail.
Maintains good conduct and safe working habits in all areas and ensures others are acting safely.
Attends daily line-up and wears a clean and neat uniform following ClubCorp and property uniform standards daily.
SKILLS DEVELOPED OVER WORK EXPERIENCE:
Training: Knowledge of tools, materials, etc. in golf course maintenance
Equipment Operation: Gain proficiency in operating powered equipment safely and effectively.
Landscaping and Groundskeeping: Develop skills in grounds maintenance, including watering, fertilizing, grading, sod laying, planting, and seeding.
Course Maintenance: Learn techniques for maintaining golf course features such as greens, tees, fairways, and roughs.
Equipment Maintenance: Understand how to maintain and operate light equipment for hauling and debris removal.
Landscaping Techniques: Learn tree trimming, shrub pruning, and shrub cultivation methods.
Construction Assistance: Gain experience in assisting with the construction of new course features, including grading, soil preparation, and planting.
Customer Service: Develop customer service skills by assisting Employee Partners, Members, and guests and handling complaints professionally.
Teamwork: Improve teamwork skills by collaborating with colleagues to ensure tasks are completed to standards.
Problem-Solving: Enhance problem-solving skills by addressing Member/Guest complaints and implementing service recovery strategies.
Adherence to Standards: Develop attention to detail and adherence to operational standards, policies, and procedures.
Workplace Safety: Learn and practice safe working habits and ensure the safety of oneself and others in the workplace.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma preferred.
This position requires: sitting, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling and various physical activities.
Driver’s license required.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Tuesday - Sunday: 5am - 9pm
Monday: 5am - 7pm
