Ardurra Group - Civil Design Engineer

Primary Function

Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for projects. The candidate must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to contribute to the project design. This includes experience in utilizing various Civil Engineering computer software packages and automated engineering and design tools. Assignments involve some unusual or challenging issues requiring job knowledge and abilities beyond entry level in roadway and stormwater.


Primary Duties

  • Lay out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project.

  • Participate in the preparation of technical specifications for review and approval.

  • Prepares technical reports.

  • Performs field tests & measurements, collects field data, as necessary.

  • Provides assistance and support to proposal teams or proposal managers.

  • Preliminary supervisory responsibilities to Design Engineers.


Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • 3+ years of related experience in engineering, and design.

  • California PE, recommended.

  • Local knowledge of agency requirements

  • Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

  • Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivating, team-oriented work practices, strong analysis and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting and design.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel


Salary: $85-92k (DOE)
