JOB SUMMARY:

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Every child in foster care has an advocate they can depend on to help them reach their fullest potential. The Social Media Intern will be crucial in enhancing CASA of Orange County's social media presence. Under the supervision of the Marketing Coordinator, this hybrid position will assist in creating, editing, and publishing various forms of content, including written posts, videos, and infographics. The role emphasizes social media design, copywriting, editing, and engaging with our followers.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist with management of the social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

  • Assist in creating and editing written, video, and photo content for social media, including updating graphics for all ongoing series/monthly content.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement new engagement initiatives (IG stories and Reels).

  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, comments, and fundraisers.

  • Build and customize social media packets for influential CASA supporters, to assist with increasing brand awareness and volunteer recruitment efforts.

  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.

  • Research new social media trends and tools.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Will be sworn in by the Court to maintain confidentiality.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Independent passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) required. Understanding of social media management tools, and social analytics ideal.

  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills ideal

  • Proficient computer skills. Experience with Google Suite and Canva preferred

  • Detail-oriented approach with impeccable time management skills

  • Proactive communicator, who is willing and able to ask questions when needed.

  • Self-starter and able to manage workload independently.

  • Experience working remotely ideal.

  • Must have own laptop and internet for working from home. Smart phone preferred but not required.

HOURS OF OPERATION:

Monday – Friday: 8:30AM – 5PM

Thursdays are mandatory in office; rest of the week is remote.
