JOB SUMMARY:
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Their vision is that every child in foster case has an advocate they can depend on to help them reach their fullest potential. As new advocates are trained and experienced advocates are reassigned, every effort is made to provide a suitable match between a child on the waitlist and an advocate. To do so, the Waitlist Assistant will keep comprehensive and regularly updated information on the waitlisted children; and provide assistance to the Waitlist Manager with matching efforts.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Provide direct support to the Waitlist Manager.
Serve as a liaison with social workers to receive updates on waitlist cases.
Make calls for periodic check ins and initial advocacy services.
Maintain case records and electronic files.
Complete Re-Assessments for youth still on the waitlist at next hearing date
Review and summarize social worker reports, entering contact log into Optima.
Upload Waitlist documents to case files in Optima system
Requirements/Qualifications:
Will be sworn in by the Court to maintain confidentiality.
Working towards an undergraduate degree in related field preferred (Sociology, Psychology, Human Services, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Google Docs/Chrome
Knowledge of child abuse and the child welfare system helpful
Ability to keep all court information confidential
Ability to work independently
Ability to organize and prioritize various tasks
Strong interpersonal skills, openness to learn, punctual, detail-oriented, flexible, ability to multi-ask, strong written and verbal communication skills
Work Experience Skills Developed:
Data entry and database management in Optima system, including summarizing Social Worker reports.
Act as liaison with social workers to receive updates on waitlist cases.
Make calls for periodic check ins and initial advocacy services.
Maintain records and electronic files.
Complete Re-Assessments for youth.
Schedule:
Schedule will be 15-20 hours between the hours of 7:30am-3:30pm or 8am-4pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

Monday – Friday: 8AM – 5PM
