Job Title: Laboratory Technician I

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 2nd Shift (Tues - Fri, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm & Sat, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm)


Job Description

As a Laboratory Technician I in the Orange, CA facility, you will play a key role in the Metals Department, ensuring environmental testing and compliance standards are met for various samples, including air, water, soil, and toxicology. This position involves coordinating sample processing schedules, preparing samples according to EPA standards, conducting data and quality control reviews, and participating in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor sample schedules and process samples per EPA and client deadlines.

  • Prepare samples in line with Standard Methods 846 and EPA protocols.

  • Perform data and quality control reviews to ensure compliance.

  • Follow standard operating and safety procedures within the lab.

  • Participate in team efforts to improve efficiency and instrument upkeep.

  • Flexibly handle workload, including overtime when required.

  • Ensure compliance with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other Montrose policies.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field is preferred.

  • Experience: 1-2 years of laboratory experience preferred; experience with metal preparation is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Knowledge of lab practices, analytical methods, and safety protocols.

    • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented approach.

    • Ability to multitask, work independently, and make sound decisions.

    • Flexibility to work weekends and handle overtime when needed.
