JOB SUMMARY:

The Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to “Supporting Business Growth in Garden Grove”. Our number one priority is to create a stronger local economy, which according to our member relevancy surveys, is what the primary work of the Chamber should be. We do this by advocating legislatively on the behalf of our members, increasing their visibility through numerous events, and informing our members on news relevant to them or their bottom lines and promoting them through multiple media platforms.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT

  • Manage Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Alignable accounts.

  • Create and post original content, write captions, tag relevant parties.

  • Find and repost relevant content from related organizations, reword captions on reposts, tag relevant parties.

  • Schedule posts for optimal times

  • Update social media profiles and delete irrelevant items.

  • Assist website manager in managing website content.

  • Review backlog of website content and make note of irrelevant items.

  • Create and post-holiday content for website and social media accounts.


MARKETING

  • Create flyers and invitations for events and marketing collateral using Canva.

  • Manage/update newsletter content using Constant Contact.

  • Create website copy and pages.

  • Assist with Chamber publication and finding new publishing company.


EVENT COORDINATION

  • Assist with event planning: Chamber events, ribbon cuttings, Chamber meetings.

  • Create event registration pages.

  • Act as event greeter as needed.

  • Set-up and tear-down after meetings

  • Make raffle baskets for events.

  • Photograph events for social media and website content


ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Administrative duties as assigned.

  • Assist with office maintenance and cleaning as needed.

  • Project management.

  • Assist with streamlining procedures.

  • Research options for needed services.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 21 years or older.

  • Personal experience with social media.

  • Social, outgoing, likes talking to older and professional people.

  • Assertive.

  • Self-starter.

  • Has good grammar and writing skills.

  • Ability to act professionally and represent the Chamber at public events.


SKILLS DEVELOPED OVER WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Manage Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Alignable accounts.

  • Create and post original content, write captions, tag relevant parties. Find and repost relevant content from related organizations, reword captions on reposts, tag relevant parties.

  • Create flyers and invitations for events and marketing collateral.

  • All items listed under Event Coordination.


HOURS OF OPERATION:

Monday - Friday: 8am - 5pm
