Job Summary:

We want our Artisans to be creative! To use every bit of your imagination when creating gelato masterpieces for our guest to enjoy. This is the fundamental role of a Artisan. People eat with their eyes, and we want to be known for having the most creative and exciting gelato displays in town! The Artisan is responsible for all Gelatissimo Gelato production, organizing the back of the house, product ordering, receiving & storage and any other menu preparations needed. You must be fast, detailed and thorough. Every single batch of Gelato must be prepared exactly to specification AND of the highest quality.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Will have first be trained as an Ambassador and continue to uphold those requirements.

  • Can perform all store opening and closing procedures.

  • Understands recipes and measurements and can follow and execute all Gelato production recipes. Follows Gelatissimo suggested order of production and flavor planning sheets when gelato production is being completed.

  • Manages the daily gelato stock take and build to levels.

  • Safely uses all BOH tools and equipment correctly and with expertise. Correctly cleans and maintains all BOH tools and equipment.

  • Understands “Stocktaking” and can accurately follow lists.

  • Can prepare all Gelato products with consistency and accuracy.

  • Understands all health and sanitation codes.

  • Wash all dishes and kitchen wares. Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment in the BOH. Understands all cleaning procedures and performs daily/weekly/monthly maintenance tasks.

  • Can record and understands Gelato par levels and can accurately follow them.

  • Can accurately receive and store a product delivery from one of our suppliers (“FIFO”) and understands rejection of products and the details that need to accompany accepting or rejecting an order. Uses FIFO when pulling or storing products.

  • Can set up the Gelato serving line.

  • Consolidates, date and labels everything accurately.

  • Communicates any issues to supervisors immediately.

  • Implements industry food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Maintains clear and clean customer sight lines while producing gelato. Maintain a clean workstation. Maintain a clean BOH environment by performing regular sweeps, mops and wipe-downs.

  • Re-stock all items during shift as needed.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Obtain a ServSafe Food Handler’s license.

Hours of Operation:

Daily from 11am - 9pm
