Requirements
Age: At least 20 years old at the time of application and 21 years old at the start of the Police Academy.
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; a four-year college degree is preferred.
Citizenship: U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States.
Health & Fitness: Excellent mental and physical health required.
Vision: Corrected vision must meet specific standards (20/20 each eye is preferred).
Selection Process
The LAPD hiring process includes:
