JOB SUMMARY:
The United Kids Intern is responsible for supporting the care of the children in their afterschool program, contributing towards program development, and supporting community development work in the Valencia Park and Gilbert Communities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Support United Kids staff in leading a room of students in social-emotional and trauma-informed after-school programming
Plan, prepare, and teach different activities for students
Mentor students through daily issues and significant life changes through supportive relationships and whole-person care
Communicate with students' staff about student successes and challenges to support whole family health
Manage and maintain a healthy classroom environment physically, socially, and emotionally
Participate OC United meetings and events
Network with partners
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Excels in both oral and written communication
Proficient interpersonal relationship skills
Organized and timely
Flexible and adaptable
Conflict resolution skills
Proficient in basic computer platforms
Ability to work well with others
Fluent in Spanish preferred

HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday - Friday: 9AM - 5PM
